Holiday in America

Plane ride

Hi Room 14

The plane ride to San Francisco was twelve hours long. We had dinner in the plane instead of at home. We waited for a few hours then flew to Denver to meet Mum and Mickey.

This is me pointing at our plane in Auckland.

We met Della and Roger, who we stayed with in Colorado Springs for three days. They had a parrot named Mako and a cat named Gateau.

The next day, we went to Pike's peak in the cog train. Pike's Peak is 14100ft high, which is higher than Mt Cook.

On Monday, Dad flew to OshKosh to the big air show, and we went to the zoo. We fed giraffes and saw lions, elephants, tigers, bears, monkeys, and other animals. Then there was a THUNDERSTORM, with lightning and lots and lots of rain, so we had to leave.

The next day, we left to meet Dad in Milwaukee. We drove about a thousand miles, stopping in Nebraska, which was flat and grassy; Iowa, which was hilly and grassy; and passing through Illinois, where we had very heavy rain so Mum couldn't see where she was driving! We stayed in Milwaukee in Wisconsin, which had lots of farms.

Then Dad came and met us, and we drove to Chicago in Illinois, where we stopped at the Six Flags Amusement park.

We stayed in Indianapolis in Indiana, where the race cars live, and then drove to Cincinnati in Ohio, where we met PJ, one of Mum's friends.

Today, we went to the King's Island water park, and my favourite water slide was the Tasmanian Typhoon. (the twister)

Bye for now

Hi Frankie,
It looks like you are having heaps of fun! I love the photo of you in the red sweatshirt and you are winking.

I have a black eye!!!
I fell off my mountain bike while riding the Queen Charlotte track.

Say Hi to Mum and Dad for me.
Love Denise

Hi Frankie!
Great to hear from you and know you are safe and having a great time.
Thank You!
We are missing you!
School is pretty busy and during the last week the weather has been quite 'spring-like'! The cross country went very well last Thursday and everyone tried very hard to do their best. I hope you can send us some more news.
Love to you and your family.
